Orishha’s Standard is an anthem, a statement, my oorah victory sound that has come out of the battlefield of a life of so much struggles. This is so far Orishha’s most personal song that many people of the struggle can definitely relate to. It wasn’t just a battle to shun the underestimations, persecutions, aspersions, betrayals from especially the ones you expect more from to focus on the pursuit of my dream; it was also a battle within myself, to mould the best material medium; – the Standard – for the vast array of energies and talents the universe had placed in me. It has also been a period of growth and discovery of unsuspecting good samaritans and friends along the way. The Universe never left me stranded. My story is deeper than meets the eye. The sacrifices had seemed too much for one incarnation of life to bear; but to tell my story or to sing my song? which do I start with? I’ll start with my song. The Dream of the eighteenth letter of the greek alphabet – The Sigma (∑). The esoteric and exoteric nature and power of this symbol ∑ is manifest in various languages, scientific disciplines, economic fields and organizations. To me it’s the Equilibrium and Electricity (to say a few) – the Standard- required to power my dream. The Sum of it all; the travails; is going through it and emerging with an undying Will of Fire to overcome all obstacles in the way of the Dream. You can’t break my spirit – I have always employed the neccessary orisha for my undertakings. Orisha Sango – god of justice, protection, masculinity, thunder and lightning had always been in my summoning vocabulary. Like gold refined in the fire seven times, I was born unto fire, to thrive in the fire and emerge as a Standard! Oorah! Oorah! Oorah! STANDARD!
